Mission accomplished...

Last night - at GSC One-Utama.

This time around we managed to drag Ayah along (despite him still having loads of work to finish for his Kuantan meeting this weekend!).

The tickets were bought a day earlier, whereby yours truly had to go to the GSC counter after failing to book them online and/or over the phone. I dragged Hanna along and made her promise not to tell her sister and brother that we had tickets for the movie.

Brought the kids' change of clothes and shoes and kept them in the car yesterday, and brought Hanna to my office straight after school. We had lunch there and she did her homework, etc. We went to fetch Ayah from the hospital at 6 p.m and went straight to SSP to fetch Hasya and Hilman, who were quite puzzled when they saw Ayah fetching them! They were even more confused when I asked them to change into their "nice clothes" in the car. They somehow suspected that we were going to see a movie because I also packed their jackets to wear.

We reached the cinema 10 minutes before the show started and both Hasya and Hilman kept on asking what movie was it that we would be watching and I said, "Just wait and see laa..." All throughout the adverts and trailers, both of them were tugging on my arms asking me - "Are we watching XYZ?", "Is it ABC?", "Is it DEF?". Hasya kept on asking to see the tickets, and I just told her to just wait for the movie to start. Hanna played her part and kept telling them that we were going to watch Harry Potter again because Ayah did not watch it last week. And her siblings somehow "semi-believed" her.

Only when the movie finally started, I could hear both of them giving a gleeful, "YESSSS!!", and both of them tugged on my arms and whispered, "Thank you, Mommy!"

The look on their faces - PRICELESS...

TRANSFORMERS.

Only one word to describe it - AWESOME!!!

Thanks, K.Ena.

Hehehe...Throwing in a few surprises for the kids every now and then is one way to make their life more colourful, I think. I know all mothers have their own ways of making things extra special for their children.

I believe that all the extra yards that we mothers go through for our children will leave a special warmth in their hearts, insya Allah, when they think of us when we are no longer around nanti...

Watching Transformers with them last night....I feel like I'm a little kid all over again! Memang awesome!

Bila my youngest dah besar sikit, bolehlah I buat macam ni. For the time being, have to find other ways to keep them entertained.

I've yet to catch Transformers with the kids....This weekend is out of the question....reading Deathly Hallows will be THE activity and Khadijah and I will be fighting for it! LOL!

Dear Mamamia,

I know what you mean.

When the kids were smaller we rarely had the chance to go to the movies together. Most of the time, it would be DVD sessions at home on Saturdays or Sundays. Each kid would choose one or two DVDs to watch, meaning they would have a marathon of 3 to 6 movies at one go in their room. Ayah would watch the Sports Channels downstairs, and Mommy would watch HBO, AXN or Star Movies upstairs. So much for "Weekend-for-the-Family" time, huh? Hahaha!

Well, it doesn't matter how we keep our children entertained, as long as everyone is happy! Itu yang paling penting. Betul tak, Mamamia?

Waaahhh, Dad of Four! You've got a copy already aaah? Did you queue up outside the bookshop since last night (or the night before?!)

I'll probably get it for Hanna tomorrow, insya Allah (if they still have copies of it that is!)

May I suggest that you and Khadijah read the book together? I'm sure both of you will have a great time turning the pages together - father and daughter. THAT, or you all will be screaming at each other, trying to keep up or slow down with each other's pace! Hahaha!

Have a great weekend, Dad of Four!

Well, thank you, Kea! That was really sweet of you.

It was not a difficult thing to do, especially when I was as eager as the kids (if not more!) to watch Transformers! Hahaha!

Take care, dear.

Yeah...it was really awesome! Thoroughly enjoyed myself! How on earth you were able to persuade me to say "yes" to a night out watching Transformers on a weekday knowing that I hadn't even started on any of my 4 talks planned for Saturday I will never understand! Hahaha...

I'm glad we went... Thanks :)

Optimus Prime @ Ayah,

Well...You know me. There are some things which I don't take "NO" for an answer. Hehehe!(Plus I knew just how much you needed a break that day.)

So glad you enjoyed yourself. I know for sure the kids had an extra special great time because you were with us.

It was my pleasure, dear ;D

It seems like ages we've - my hubby and I done that - booking a movie either through the phone or the internet.

Hope to do that soon enough. Else, just wait until they come out on DVDs!

-more than meets the eye-

Dear Dad of Four,

Excellent thinking - getting one each!

You queued @ Kino from 4.30a.m Saturday?! Wow!!!

Hmmmm...the things fathers would do for their daughters, eh? I remember Ayah queueing up way back in 1997 outside Argos in the early hours in Newcastle to get the Teletubbies dolls for Hanna! She was 2 years old then. Even until now, Ayah couldn't believe he actually did that!!! Hahaha!

Take care.

I also managed to watch Transformers on Sunday afternoon. I must say it's so believable. Neat and well written. The CGI is unquestionably smooth and so real. Although I don't call myself the geek type, but I enjoyed it tremendously.

Dear Ibu,

Hanna and I went to TESCO yesterday to get "HP and the DH", but all copies were sold out!

So, today we went to Popular. Members get 25% discount - still slightly more expensive than TESCO's price, but, Hanna just couldn't wait for TESCO to restock.

We ended up buying 4 copies - 1 for Hanna, and 3 for her best friends. Apparently she "owed" them their birthday presents, and the books seem to be the perfect gifts for them.

As for me, I really don't know when I can start reading it. I might just read all 7 books back to back after I finish my PhD thingy.... (Hmmmm...bila lah tu agaknya, ek?!)

Take care.

Dear Theta,

I know what you mean. Been there, done that!

We rarely had the chance to watch movies at the cinemas when our kids were smaller, too. Like you, we normally would wait for the DVDs to come out.

Soon, insya Allah, when your daughter is older enough to appreciate and enjoy a day out at the cinema, you'll get to do it again, this time as a family. It'll be great.

Take care, Theta.

Dear d.n.a.s,

Yes, superb CGIs. So realistic! My son was watching it with his mouth slightly "ajar" throughout the movie. Hehehe...

Errr...I wouldn't consider those who are so into Transformers as "geeks"! More like "Cool dudes", I think? YES? NO?! ;D
