Nice! Macam pinang dibelah dulu. Rambut you macam ada heart share gitu! Hee.. hee... Early 90s lah kata kan... Thanks for the pics!
Congratulations for actually having the courage to post the pics! Certainly brings back the 90's.. he he ..My baju was cream in colour. My MIL approved of the tengkolok because it looks like the Yamtuan's (!?!).
Amy
mrsnordin,
Thanks, and welcome.
I know what you mean. Definitely the 90's, huh? :)
I was a bit upset with my Mak Andam that day for coming up with that sarang burung hairdo, but it was a bit too late to re-style it.
Anyway, I said to myself - it was just a hairdo. No big deal. I just became Mrs. Ayah the night before. Nothing else mattered. Hehehe!
Hi Amy,
Thanks. The 90's flooding back in one slide-show... That bad, huh?! HAHAHAHA!!
I was having a bit of a dilemma actually whether to post the pics or not, but, then thought - "What the heck! They won't kill me (or others, I hope?!). Hehehe!
Yes, my MIL specifically asked S*t*r* J*n*g* to do it the Nogoghi/Yamtuan style. The family's from Ghombau maaaa...
Shana,
Wow!Ini yang ditunggu-tunggu!Cantik, macam pinang di belah dua! I like ur bilik pengantin punya cadar sulam emas( tekat), susah nak cari sekarang !
Azian,
Thank you :) That was nearly 14 years ago, when both Ayah and I weighed MORE than 14 kilos less each. HAHAHAHA!
As Ayah's side was having a pretty much Nogoghi-style, my side was having a pretty much Perak-style wedding. What can be more Perak-style than having the sulam tekat emas for the bilik pengantin, right? ;)
Yes, memang susah nak cari a good piece of tekat-work nowadays. Yang ada mostly tak kemas, and look so ciplak, kan?
The set that I used belonged to my Aunty - pure orang Kuala Kangsar. Very finely done, and very well kept and cared for.
Wowwww .... good to see that pics while we are still in London. Memang nampak padan sekali.
Guess that the ending of post on 'love story'. Tak ada peluang lah nak mintak/tengok gambar you all masa tengah hangat 'bercinta' di UK.
Hi Shana,
Been quiet lately coz I have been busy going back and forth to Jeddah. In fact baru balik last Friday...My dear wife pun 2X5....Sekarang ni she is on an island somewhere in Sabah attending meeting/site visit. I think it is about time the MT convenes.
Anyway, it was very nice of you to share the photos especially the ones with the pengapits!! I nak start jogging tomorrow. And Mrs Engineer also. We must have weighed at least 10 kilos less then!! Both you and Haizal I can say are awet muda....
udinb,
Thanks! :)
Cerita Chenta has come to an end in the sense that the courting times are now replaced with marriage tales...
Ada sikit lagi loose ends which need to be tightened up before we can finally bid adieu to this Cerita Chenta ;)
Gambar masa "tengah hangat bercinta"? Hehehe... Just last night I was looking through our old albums. Nostalgic... (tapi TOYE giler... Hahaha!)
Mr Engineer!!
FINALLY, you muncul semula! I guessed as much that you guys must have been pretty busy.
Yup - definitely need to loosen up with MT lepak session. And we need to have a somewhat belated birthday celebration for somebody, too! Winks*
The master albums which have all the pics are at Haizal's mom's. Insya Allah, will add on some more to the slides once I get my hands on some of the better pics.
Errr, we all awet muda?!! Tang mana tu, if I may ask?! Hahaha!
Jogging? What is THAT?!!!
Nice pics! Lovely...
I am just curious and if I may, can I ask which mak andam you went to? The red songket attire and the bride & groom poses in your potraits look sooo familiar... (like a signature style of one popular mak andam in the 90s)...
Apapun, memang pinang dibelah dua!
myheartbleeds,
Thank you :)
I'm sure you're thinking of the exact Mak Andam service that we used - S*t*r* Jingga. Yup - very in demand in the 90s :)
Rambang mata when we went to their bridal boutique/centre...
wanshana, I am right, ya?? We used the same mak andam too, three years later after your wedding...
Gambar posing2 tu and the cutting of your kebaya gave it away! ;-)
wah lawa la kak shana...agreed with one of the reader ckp u and Mr H awet muda...
i like your cadar tekad too...very nice...
Kak,
You one hot babe!
thanks for the lovely pix kak shana. ok so it was in the 90s, i'm sure everything was pretty much in line with the (then) current trend, kan? hehe...just like the other day when i saw a couple of pix taken during my parents' wedding reception, nothing wrong with mom, but keeping to the latest trend back in the mid 70s, the groom nampak hippie habisss...rambut panjang and all....hehehe...
now my dad dah botak and my mom likes to tease him by jesting stuff like 'many hairs ago' everytime tengok gambar2 lama...hehhehehe...
again, thanks for sharing, kak shana.
Kerp
That "many hairs ago" has certainly applied to....ME! I can relate to ur dad very well, actually... ;p
Hi! Shana, remember Ab*d was supposed to snap pictures, she turned up with her new canggih camera and busy reading the manual masa tunggu akad nikah!!!! Ha!Ha!But I think she performed! She's always so clever one what!
Mrs.Nazri.
Dear myheartbleeds,
Sama Mak Andam kita?!! Errrr, pakai baju sama ke?! Hehehe!
I still remember the skinny photographer (I think by the name of JAI) yang teramatlah sempoi dan slow motion when he gave instructions/directions as to how we were supposed to pose, etc)- macam tak ader kesudahannya...
They came highly recommended, and I think they were very professional. Ayah and I were happy with them :)
Ila de cute,
Hehehe! Thank you - for saying I lawa and awet muda...
(Errr...if you were still my student, I bagi you markah lebih for my paper. HAHAHAHA!)
Yes - my aunty's cadar tekat tu was really nice indeed:)
Elviza,
HAHAHAHAHA!
"One HOT Baby"?!!!!
Thank you...thank you! If I WAS ever so pun, WAS is the operative word here. Dah tak HOT dah sekarang. Hehehe...
But, thank you. You REALLY made my day :)
Kerp,
You're most welcome :)
Errr, I don't think the sarang burung hairdo was the in-thing even back then, dek oiii!
Tapi, tak aper lah. As I mentioned earlier, I just became Mrs. Ayah the night before and nothing else mattered. Even if my Mak Andam did a beehive hairdo on me pun I tak kisah kot?!
I cringe jugak masa nak post the pics here actually...Hehehe!
Ayah,
You're still "Jejaka Paling Handsome di Muka Dunia" to me -
hair or no hair ;)
(And, errr...flabs or no flabs! Hehehe!)
Mrs Nazri,
I seem to remember a Camera Manual somewhere that night :), but wasn't sure in relation to what exactly. So, itulah ceritanya, ya?
Yup...trust Ab*d to do it at the very last minute....Hehehe!
Take care, dear :)
Shana..seperti tpegun disini...and bila kita tengok ur pics ..one thing ynag u tak leh sembunyikan from ur ever known friendly smile was that u were so happy..albeit nak kena tinggak tatkala inai masih merah...
Eh..dkt nak samalah aniversarry..cuma kita 4993..and rasa macam ingat dpt kad jemputan u ...tapi kena quarantine berpantang daa....
Thanx for great pics...jadi kenangan sepanjang zaman..u did steal the limelight..tenggelam pengantin lelaki....he ..he..
tata!
Hi Eta,
Thank you and welcome :)
Yes, the most beautiful moments in my life, and I was happy in the truest sense. Rasa macam floating ajer. Itu yang asyik tersengih aje kot masa tu...Hahaha!
Groom tenggelam?! Errrr, I rasa it was the other way round. I thought Haizal was the perfect dashing groom. Couldn't take my eyes off of him :)
Yes, I think you tengah confinement masa tu. So, now, finally you get the chance to see my wedding pics! :)
Take care, dear.
P/S : And I still remember your wedding day - you wore a beautiful green songket...
salam kak shana,
love your photos!!!
i love the one in marroon(?) - the one with the caption 'never mind the bird's nest hair' and the one you in your red songket!!!
* abang H - you look like a panglima besar in your red songket *
hehehe :)
Salam Motley,
Thank you :)
The pix with me in maroon/purple - and the bird-nest hairdo tu? Serious?! THAT was the pic which I was contemplating whether to post here or not. Image suicide that... HAHAHAHA!!
Abang H macam "Panglima Besar" in the red songket? Couldn't agree more :)! But, now - MAKIN besar...
But, as people have been saying that we all macam pinang dibelah dua, I pun terpaksalah membesarkan diri I jugak... Hahaha!
Thanks for finally upload these lovely photos, Kak Shana!
I love both the red- and cream-coloured wedding garbs, but I like the red better - it is a great shade on you. :)
No wonder you both fall for each other. Sama cantik & sama padan...
Thanks for sharing the pics.
Shana,
TQ TQ TQ for the pix!! Ayu-ayu gitu... "Kebahagiaan jelas terpancar di kedua-dua wajah Pengantin"... Cewaaah... Ada masuk magazine tak? Kalau ada, boleh korek magazine lama-lama.. hehe..
Lepas ni, how about gambar honeymoon pulak.... amacam?
Dear Theta,
You're most welcome :)
The red songket was my MIL's choice actually (she was, and still is into vibrant colours), and both Ayah and I had no problems wearing them, despite comments made by some, e.g. "RED??!!! Are you sure?!" Hehehe!
Anyway, she and my Arwah FIL footed all the bills for the groom's reception - we dare not say "No"! HAHAHAHA! But, yeah... we felt good wearing the Red Songket :)
And because it was decided that we would be wearing songket for the groom's reception, we opted for a simple cream (lace for me) for my side.
Thank you again, dear :)
Mamamia,
Thank you, and you're welcome :)
Errr...But, Ayah didn't fall for me because of my looks (which I don't think I ever had/have pun!)
He fell for me because I ni seorang yang SANGAT baik hati, SANGAT prihatin, SANGAT penyabar, dan segala macam yang SANGAT baik-baik lagi lah which one can think of. HAHAHAHAHAHA!!!
(Yeah, right... :D)
But, seriously - for me, I fell for him because he was such a gentleman and very romantic, NEVER raised his voice, very patient (at least with ME), very humble, and led a very simple life.
And he is still all that until now...
(And I suppose, the looks factor came in slightly later kot? :D)
Ja,
You're welcome, you're welcome, you're welcome! Hehehe...
Memang bahagia :)
FORTUNATELY - tak masuk magazine.
Errrr, gambar honeymoon?!! We went to Bali actually, but tak banyak sangat pix, because most of the time we were indoors...
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!
doc,
nothing to worry about. bald is beautiful, and some say sexayyy too..hehehehehe...
Err Kerp..really? REALLY? Wow!!! I go shave myself then! Hahahaha... :D
Great pics Shana.
Dashing groom, beautiful bride, nice tengkolok, interesting hairdo, most importantly - both of you look very very happy!
One thing I notice..pengantin baru ni suka sangat amik gambar atas katil. I pun banyak posing atas katil...kenapa tah...hahahaha...
Hi Wanshana, ahhhh, now I know, ha ha.
Really nice to see these memories...love is a many splendoured thing.
You keep well and have a great weekend...by the way, drop by if free...Lee.
Waaaaaaaaaa......lawanyaaaaa!!!! Photogenic jugak you all ni rupanya yer?
Sama cantik sama padan, like birdnest & burungnya...... hehehehhhhh
So nice to post them here. Brings back all those memories.
And look at "The Gang" photo. We were so young & innocent then huh? Now some have gone sideways... hahaha!!
Waterlily,
Thanks!
Errrr, katil "keramat", kot?!
HAHAHAHAHAHA!
Hi Uncle Lee,
Thanks.
So, now you know....Hehehe ;)
Take care!
Ibu,
Thank you :)
"Birdnest & burungnya?!!!" Errrr, bunyi ada lain macam sket laaa, kawan! HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!
We all photogenic? Ada two types of photogenic people -
Those who don't look good in real life but look fantastic in photos,
OR
They look as fantastic in real life and this shows in their photos.
I hope you meant we fall under the latter ;) Hehehe...
Gambar "The Gang" tu was taken nearly 14 years ago. I think everybody was already married then (except for T***) but body still maintain coz' belum jadi mak budak lagi...
Ahhh..finally dapat tengok gambar. Lovely wedding pictures! Alah, nak habis dah cerita chenta? :P
Sorry Shana and Tuan DOktor....itu pengantin lelaki memang nampak macam Hang Tuah le..cuma pada pandangan patik..slalunya ramai yang lebih teruja nak nengok pengantin pompuan...
Kalu dah jodoh kan...look tak jadi hal..tetapi look memang does matterkan!!(menarik pada pandangan mataku..le maksudnye!)Kalau tidak takkan wujud pepatah..dari mana datangnya chenta...
"Dari mata turun ke hati..."...
Waaa....
Semuga chenta tetap berbunga..walau 'size' telah berkali ganda...
Ini tawun..baju raya..'colour theme' ape??
Amy,
Hehehe - Untuk tatapan umum finally :)
Yup - dah nak habis dah Cerita Chenta pra-perkahwinan...
Pasca-perkahwinan - rahsia rumahtangga...Hehehe!
Eta,
Hehehe...No need to apologise la kawan!
I guess, looks would have to come into the picture somehow - just that priorities given might differ from one person to another.
I have to say (again) - it was Ayah's other traits which made me fall for him. I think one very strong factor must have been his brains... Hehehe!
Theme raya tahun ni - yellow/cream/beige and coral peach/orange. What about you all? Baru hantar tailor last week. Nasib baik still terima!
Take care!
Hi Shana,
I baru je follow ur blog but I think i dah addicted to it. I hop in secara xsengaja, masa tu tersangat boring so I goto sentraalstation, terklik ur blog and find it very interesting, cerita pasal ur neighbour kalau xsilap.
Noni
Hi Noni,
Thank you for hopping by! :)
"Addicted"? Waduuhhh, such a strong word, but thank you - I'm flattered :). I just hope I can provide you with regular dosages of sensible writings to feed your addiction. Hehehehe!
Thank you again. And I look forward to your visits here :). It's always nice to get to know new friends in blogosphere (or are you one of the "Nonis" who are already my friends but had been M.I.A all these years??!!)
Hmmmmm, curious...
Hi Shana,
Me again. Semestinya bukan ur M.I.A friend tu. Sorry to disappoint you on that.
FYI, I'm senior of age, going to be 43 this october, tapi rasa macam 30an je. Hehehehe, good to perasan sekali sekala!
Am not a blogger but ada few blogs yang i suka, among others Rantings, Mak Andeh, Zawi, CheDet and yours of course.
May be cara you all bercerita that attract me and touch my heart sometimes.
Noni
Hi Noni,
Be rest assured - no disappointments whatsoever here :D
I also frequent those blogs, but I've never left any comments, except for in Mak Andeh's. Like you, I love her writings! I guess because the things that touch our hearts and matter to us enough to write about are very similar kot?
Hmmmm, BARU nak masuk 43 - masih muda. Insya Allah dipanjangkan umur, belum masuk "separuh" usia lagi tu. Amin. ;)
Take care.
Whoopss...
U are my senior or junior???
Can still become pet-sis ah???
Tq for dropping by and the prayers for my fren.
Would like to see you in that 'greenlady' attire...baju hijau formal tu..tsk!tsk!
Hi Chahya, (love your name!)
My, my...You're an x-STFian, too? The world is indeed very small! I'm your senior - SPM '85 and just hit the Big 4 in May this year. You must be between 6-8 years my junior?
Your friend Shera - I'm still numbed even though I didn't know her personally...I'm sure her family and friends are still in a state of shock... Al-Fatihah.
That green formal baju kurung? I, myself would LOVE to be able to FIT in it now! :)
Take care, Chahya.
wanshana :-)
i am so late to join this much fun here...uhuh, nasib baik tak terus ketinggalan keretapi!!
thanks for those photos....lovely couple indeed!! semua gambar u and 'ayah' ada senyuman....paling tidak ada senyuman nervous...sungguh ingah kenangan...
looks like a grand wedding!!
many more happy annivessaries together!!
Pp
Pak Payne,
It's never too late to join in the fun :)
You're most welcome, thank you, and thank you.
I wouldn't say that it was a grand wedding, neither would I describe it as an average wedding. But, either way, it was one of the sweetest moments in my life - and THAT is grand enough for me ;)
Take care, and have a great weekend!
Wah.....The icing on the cake....! I enjoyed reading your Cherita Chenta - the most thrilling roller coaster ride. Now baru lega nak blog-hop!
Shana,
Betul-betul macam cerita P.Ramlee... he.he.he... Your hubby looks much thinner then.. oopss and you.. still maintain 'Anggun' laa...
Insyallah dimurahkan rezeki for both of you...
Dear Dad of 4+1,
Welcome back! :)
Penat tau dok hop over to your blog and being greeted by the sawangs...Hehehehe! Good to see you're back into the groove again :D
And I'm flattered that despite your ultra busy schedule, you somehow managed to follow the Cerita Chenta which somehow managed to provide some random entertainment for you :)
I could see that your lil' baby girl is not so lil' anymore - she has grown so much during her dad's hiatus, huh? So adorable maaaa...
Looking forward to your postings ;)
Take care.
Hi Kmar,
Cerita P.Ramlee?! Errrr, hope it's NOT "Madu Tiga"? Hahaha... (Simpang....simpang...)
Ya loooorrr... that was nearly 14 years ago maaa... I can use the excuse of having had to carry and bear our kids, hence all the spare tyres (Pirelli, Dunlop, Goodyear segala...) Sepatutnya Haizal still maintain his pre-marriage weight lah kan?!
But then again, bahaya la pulak - kalau dia macam trang tang tang, and I macam tong deram! So, to maintain macam "pinang dibelah dua", lebih baik sama-sama mengumpul segala tyres yang ada, and tyres tu semua dipam-pam to the max...Hahaha!
Btw, Welcome home! And perfect timing - musim durian you!
My apologies - I left my mobile at home kelmarin, and only got back home after 11:00pm and realized there were a few missed calls and voice messages from you. It was too late to return your calls.
Tried calling 3-4 times yesterday, but kept being disconnected. Will call you today, okay?
Here's wishing you the best Summer break ever, dear :)
Kmar,
Oh my, terlupa pulak. Thank you for the "murah rezeki" do'a, my friend. Amin. Insya Allah.
And dido'akan dimurahkan rezeki you, Jose and anak-anak juga, insya Allah.
