Moo RX6 Turbo...

I was driving Hasya and Hilman back to SD from their chess class yesterday, when suddenly Hilman asked me -

Hilman : Mommy, what do you want me to be when I grow up, Mommy?

Me : Anything that you want to be, Hilman. You're a clever boy, you can be whatever you want to be. Hilman nak jadi apa nanti?

Hilman : I don't know...I don't want to be a doctor. I hate blood (Oooops! Ayah - there goes another potential cardiologist to follow your footsteps!)

Me : Hmmmmm...Engineer?

Hilman : I want to be a car designer. I want to design cars like Chevrolet, Corvette, Nissan RX6, Ferrari, Toyota Supra, etc. (Noticed - no mention of Proton or Perodua here?!)

He paused for a while, and then asked -

Hilman : Mommy, will you buy the cars that I design, Mommy?

Me : Hmmmm...I will not BUY them, Hilman. You should GIVE Mommy the cars you design as presents instead, boleh?

Hilman : Ohhh, okay Mommy. I will give all of them to you as presents then.

At this point, Hasya butted in -

Hasya : Mommy, will you accept the cars that Hilman designs even if they're ugly, Mommy? (in a typical Hasya style)

Hilman : My cars will not be ugly, Kak Ngah (Feeling rather annoyed)

Hasya : What if you put spoilers and all which will spoil the looks of your car? (Get it? Spoilers? Spoil?), and then you put all the dark glass and all? That's for young people, you know? (Okay...I get it. I'm old...)

Hilman : I will not put spoilers la, Kak Ngah...But, maybe I will put the dark tinted glass.

Hasya : What else will you put on/in your car?

Hilman : I will put cow seats and all...

Hasya & Me : What??!!! COW SEATS?! HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!

Hilman was by then also laughing uncontrollably beside me in the passenger seat, and said -

Hilman : HAHAHAHAHA!!! NOOOOOO!!!! I meant "leather seats", not "cow seats"! Hahahahahaha!

The three of us just laughed all the way back to SD...

HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!! Cow seats, indeed :)

I can just imagine the horn going, "MOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO" every time I honk all the bangang drivers on the road at the age of 70...

My dear Hilman,

Cow seats, or no cow seats...
Spoilers, or no spoilers...
Tinted glass, or no tinted glass...
Ugly, or not (but, I bet all your designs will be just beautiful and perfect!)
Mommy will be VERY PROUD to drive the cars that you design, okay?

Mmmmuuuuaaaahhhsss!

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA,
Hilman, I will buy your cars, but only on one condition :
you give them to me, for free, deal?
LOL, I don't think it's called buying then; there goes your business, little brother! :)

How sweet of Hilman!

Boleh gang with Hafiz la. But he doesn't want to design the cars. He wants to buy & sell cars (import & export? uhuhuhu.....). He said, he will 'just tell' the engineers what designs he wants, they'll design it for him - designs that would sell indeed, he said. Kiasu...

He wants green cars too. Green as in the colour, not environmentally friendly. When I asked about the environment - oh yeah, there'll be one with plants on the car roof too, he said. That's about the closest to 'green' his car would be.

Sadly though, no mention of Proton & Perodua either.

But mommy, re the cow seat..... in years to come, we'll ask, "which of these cars belong to MOOOOOOO-MY?" hehehe.....

i was imagining the black&white friesian cow hide lining the seats actually.

Hanna,

You know what your lil' brother said to me this morning? He said -

"Mommy, Kak Long is also like you. She wants my cars for free...But, it's okay lah...She's my sister, right? I can give my cars to her as presents..."

Aaawwwhhhh...Isn't that sweet of him?

wanshana said...

Ibu,

Hahahaha!

Hmmmm...maybe Hilman and Hafiz should enter into a JV on designing and importing and exporting cars when they grow up nanti? That will be cool, no?!

I'm sure Hilman can come up with a car design which has a tree on its roof. Eazy peazy for him...Hehehe! While we're at it, we should also throw in a gardener (in the form of a Mr. Badhal Khan) into the design. Hahaha!

I told him, if he designs for the foreign makes, most probably he would have to work outside Malaysia. If he designs for Proton and Perodua, then the chances are he would work here.

And he said -

"I don't want to design for Proton or Perodua...I want to design for Corvette and Dodge (Viper). But, I don't want to be far away from you!"

Aaaawwwwwhhhhh...that's my boy ;)

Kudo,

Oh yeah - the friesian black and white ala (BIG) dalmatian spots seats! I never thought of that! (although one of Hanna's friends' mom in Newcastle had them in her PURPLE car once)

Hmmmm...come to think of it, that friesien cow hide lining is not too bad an idea actually - that is IF the design and the colour of the car blend well with it, no?

Hello Wanshana, wow! You sure have one intelligent boy there....its good they have these thoughts...motivate, encourage them as they grow up...who knows? They might join Toyota, Ford, GM or Ferrari as chief designer?

I too when young told my mom I don't want to be a doctor as I don't like to see blood, ha ha.

You know, right now there are actual stories of boys when young having dreams of being car designers, and I remember reading about Ferrari employing one young guy, as well here I think its Chrysler...and he designed two years ago a real top seller too. Not to mention earning big bucks same time.
Very lively posting, Wanshana...warms the heart reading it.
You stay easy and have a great week, Lee.

Dear WS

HAHAHAHA that was good one. Let me relate to you what my AF3 said the other day.. (maybe not related to this topic.. but it has to do with cars)

A ferari passed us on the highway and I asked him whether the car is beautiful... and he said no... instead he pointed out to a 4WD pickup truck and said yg itu cantik..... a pick up truck instead of a ferari?

Hopefully Hilman has some good designs coming out of the production line...:)

cheers

haha hilman is so cute.... and so so sweet.....

I too imagined the black and white seats.....

Ja @ DDI,

Yes, he's a sweet boy, and very generous, too. So, I don't think it'll be a problem for him to give a car to you as a present, too :)

You only need to ask - if he has some spares to give, I bet he will give it to you unhesitatingly ;)

wanshana said...

Ibu,

Snake skin also can!

And I bet it won't be a problem to find a few big ones to turn into custom-made lining for the seats considering my BJ compound has been unattended to for quite some time now... Sigh...

Hi Uncle Lee,

Thank you :)

Yes, Hilman is REALLY into cars - and he can name all the models and makes that he sees on the road!

Yes, there's a lot of dosh in car-designing. What better way to earn a living (and big money, too!) than doing something you really love, kan?

As a mother I can only pray that he would venture in and do well in a career of his choice. That, and also to guide him to make the right decision.

He's always leaving sketches of cars all over the house - some of them have wings on them sometimes! Hehehe!

Cheers, and take care, Uncle Lee.

Hi afsi,

HAHAHAHA! Well, they say beauty is in the eyes of the beholder, kan? And I guess it's pretty subjective pun.

Another car incident that I would like to share here -

I was driving the kids home from school about a month ago and was passing through Tmn Tun, when we had to stop at a traffic light. In front of the car was a lady driving a sports car (can't remember whether it was a Nissan or a Mazda)

And when the light turned green, this lady just took her own sweet time to drive off, and for about 100 metres or so, we were trailing behind her at 25-30 km/h!

I muttered something like, "No point driving a sports car if she drives at that speed!".

To which Hilman said, "Mommy, maybe she's driving slowly so that she can show off her car. If she drives too fast, nobody can see her nice sports car, can they?"

Hmmmm...He's got a point there, huh?

Anyway, I think I should start making a scrapbook for him to paste all his designs in. Insya Allah, if his dreams come true, he can refer to all the ingenious designs he comes up with now for his concept cars/prototypes, huh?

Cheers :)

Helena,

Hehehe...He IS a sweet boy :)

The black and white seat lining would be cool if kena dengan the design of the car, I guess?

(Hmmmmm....Those seats in a Black Mini Cooper, maybe? Naaaaahhh...)

Shana

boleh masuk guiness world record...imagine this, "this catchy sports car was designed by one young boy (Hilman Haizal)from Malaysia. The only car that came with cow seats, that goes Moooo by the honk and complete with one gardener to water the plant on car roof top." (make it two boys then - coz anak IBu pun termasuk gak..)

Hey...thats innovative yo...

Shana, your boy is sooooo sweet..i asked my anak juz now, dia kata "errmmm boleh, tapi mummy kena bayar sikit commission.." Issshhh...!

Kerp (Ph.D) said...

hey, lay off hilman everyone. my first thought was that it was very original coming from a kid's mouth, instead of the doctor/engineer/lawyer/soldier that children typically to answer. i think he's one ambitious kid. way to go, hilman!!

wanshana said...

Waterlily,

I can just visualize the car now - especially part the gardener watering the plant. Hahaha!

Waaaa, your boy very business-minded one! You should be his account manager nanti. Sure he'll make loadsa dosh. Kaaccchhhiiinng!

wanshana said...

Kerp,

Yup - very unconventional boy, my Hilman :)

He can explain the slight differences between Car X and Car Y, which to me look the same any way I look at them, and he knows the max speed the cars can do, nd he knows which countries the makers come from, too :)

I think he'll be one heck of a very good car designer when he grows up, insya Allah.

Kids say the darndest things, don't they? They're so cute and wide-eyed.

I love that part about children. :)

Last night, Sadia used the word UNTUK, much to my surprise. :D

wanshana said...

Dear Theta,

Yes, they do, don't they? And they are, aren't they? :)

Wow, "UNTUK"? I'm very impressed. Kids do listen to and analyze our conversations even though sometimes they don't seem to pay attention to us, kan?

The fact that she used that word out of the blue just goes to show that she knows when to use it and in what context, just by listening to the everyday conversations you have at home with hubby and her.

And I find it amusing listening to my kids speak in Bahasa Melayu/Indonesia with our maid, when the words like, "Mengapa","Bagaimana", etc would come out :)

Kak Shana,
tell Hilman that there are 'bucket seats' installed in race cars. Let him find out how they look like. Maybe he'd design 'cow bucket seats' in the near future. How interesting.

I also imagined a friesian cow when I read 'cow seat'. Hehehehe.

Dear Sister,

Ahhhhh... my heart melts like chocolate under blazing sun reading this conversation.

On a side note, do you think we could marry Hilman and my girl (the one I have yet to conceive!)?

They can live happily ever after and we can be "besan" and drink coffee?

Shana,

Ha..ha..ha... What a sweet thought to give to family members for free. Niat tu penting!!!

d.n.a.s,

Just googled "bucket seats" with Hilman, and managed to see some pics.

Hilman said, "Ooooohhhh... Those are race car seats la Mommy. I already knew how they look like!"

So now he knows what they're called!

Thanks! :)

wanshana said...

Elviza,

I asked Hilman to read your comment, and this was what transpired -

Hilman : Who is Elviza, Mommy?

Me : She's a blogger friend of mine - she also has a blog.

(I then showed your blog to him)

Hilman : How old is Elviza's daughter, Mommy?

Me : Ooooh, she doesn't have a daughter YET, but when she has one nanti, she wants her daughter to marry you!

Hilman : Oooooh Mommy!! Her daughter will be too young, Mommy. I'll be 40 years old and she'll only be 13 like that... I cannot marry her!

HAHAHAHAHAHA!!

Anyway, bisa diatur, sista ;)

Cheers!

wanshana said...

Kmar,

Hehehe...Betul tu - niat tu penting. But, he is a generous boy naturally anyway :)

And if Hilman has anything to do with it, I can bet that the cars will be of the best make and quality :)

Cheers, friend - see you Saturday, insya Allah.

wanshana said...

Dear bellaez,

Yes, syukur alhamdulillah - I'm very proud of my kids (like any other parents are, of theirs:))

Thank you, and thank you for following my ramblings in this humble blog of mine. It's nice to know that there are reader-friends, silent or not, who appreciate and can relate to my experiences which I blog about here. It really warms my heart :)

And I'm happy that my Cerita Chenta had triggered some jiwang memories of yesteryears in you! Ada rasa sayang kat hubby lebih tak after that? Hehehe...

Take care :)
